Base Salary
$200k - $300k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build, operate, and improve security monitoring, detection, and response infrastructure
- Onboard new systems and services to the SIEM and tune alerts for high signal
- Automate data enrichment and incident response workflows
- Facilitate incident response processes and tabletop exercises
- Collaborate with the CISO and security team to expand Verkada’s security program
- Share security expertise through conferences and blogs
- Mentor peer engineers in security reasoning and knowledge
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or equivalent
- 7–10+ years of experience as a software engineer, security engineer, site reliability engineer, or security consultant
- Experience building robust and scalable products in public clouds, including AWS
- Proficiency programming in Golang or Python
- Familiarity with continuous integration and Infrastructure as Code
- Experience designing and optimizing high-throughput ETL pipelines
- Interest in learning new security products, features, and strategies
- Excellent collaboration, written communication, and verbal communication skills
- Willingness and ability to work onsite five days per week
