Base Salary
$157k - $200k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, architecture, and development of scalable, reliable, secure, and high-performance software systems.
- Establish engineering standards, architectural guidelines, development processes, code reviews, automated testing, and CI/CD practices.
- Mentor and coach junior and mid-level engineers through technical guidance, training, workshops, peer programming, and feedback.
- Act as the escalation point for complex technical challenges, including performance analysis, debugging, telemetry review, and root cause analysis.
- Collaborate with SRE, DevOps, product, architecture, engineering leadership, and other stakeholders on technical strategy and business alignment.
- Define technical roadmaps, manage cross-team dependencies, assess project risks, and balance short-term delivery with long-term goals.
- Drive responsible adoption of automation, machine learning models, and AI-powered tools for engineering and business-process optimization.
- Improve system stability, observability, security, resilience, capacity, disaster recovery, and incident response.
- Identify performance bottlenecks through profiling, metrics monitoring, and database query refinement.
- Introduce infrastructure-as-code and cloud-native solutions to streamline deployments and improve operational agility.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a directly related field.
- At least 10 years of experience in software development.
- At least 5 years of experience establishing technical standards, defining architectural guidelines, and embedding engineering best practices.
- At least 5 years of experience mentoring engineers across multiple technical domains, including system architecture, performance optimization, and site reliability.
- At least 3 years of experience in technical leadership roles driving cross-functional initiatives and technical direction without formal authority.
- Experience may be gained concurrently.
