  • Create system-level engine code using MATLAB/Simulink for engine and generator design and development.
  • Conduct simulated, functional, and system-level analyses and testing to optimize steady-state and transient engine performance.
  • Interpret test results and collaborate with cross-functional teams through code reviews and technical discussions.
  • Develop software and code-analysis best practices and document code objectives, methods, and results.
  • Use MATLAB/Simulink modeling, Python scripting, machine learning, and predictive analytics to forecast and improve code and engine performance.
  • Apply ATI Vision for engine calibration and support co-simulation workflows using Software-in-the-Loop and Hardware-in-the-Loop environments.
  • Present complex simulation and code results to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Occasionally travel and perform work involving computer-based tasks, standing, walking, and lifting up to 25 pounds.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related discipline.
  • At least 5 years of relevant work experience.
  • Proficiency applying MATLAB/Simulink to internal combustion engine systems, including steady-state and transient behavior, fault codes, SPNs, SAE J1939 CAN networks, sensor integration, and embedded systems.
  • Experience with automotive standards and Software-in-the-Loop and Hardware-in-the-Loop co-simulation environments.
  • Familiarity with machine learning and predictive analytics for engine performance and emissions modeling.
  • Familiarity with generator design and a strong understanding of internal combustion engine design, operation, and testing.
  • Preferred qualifications include a master’s degree in electrical, mechanical, aerospace engineering, computer science, or a related field.
  • Preferred experience includes advanced MATLAB/Simulink and Python engine-code development, ATI Vision calibration, propulsion-system simulation, engine controls, real-time validation, gaseous-fuel systems, and predictive analytics.
