Responsibilities
- Develop application firmware in C for embedded controllers used in generator and power tool products.
- Design control algorithms, communication interfaces, firmware modules, and supporting documentation.
- Define interface requirements and collaborate with product development and engineering teams on system interfaces and algorithms.
- Create, execute, and evaluate firmware and hardware test specifications in laboratory and real-product environments.
- Support new product development, product validation, troubleshooting, design reviews, and design-for-manufacturability and design-for-test activities.
- Use simulation tools and modify design documentation as appropriate.
- Mentor less experienced engineers.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a directly related engineering discipline.
- At least 5 years of experience with embedded programming.
- Strong proficiency in C and C++.
- Preferred experience with C# and firmware testing strategies.
- Ability to independently validate code before formal testing.
- Expert understanding of engineering principles and communication protocols or hardware interfaces.
- Experience or willingness to adopt AI-assisted development tools is preferred.
- Experience working within mature engineering processes and cross-functional environments is preferred.
