Base Salary
$170k - $195k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and automate the software development lifecycle and infrastructure supporting Fieldwire.
- Own the health, scalability, security, reliability, and performance of production systems.
- Lead incident response, root-cause analysis, troubleshooting, and preventative improvements.
- Develop and maintain monitoring, alerting, and observability systems.
- Set technical direction and make architectural decisions for platform infrastructure.
- Lead infrastructure-as-code projects and review infrastructure designs.
- Design, develop, and support internal tools and environments for engineering teams.
- Drive improvements to tooling, processes, standards, and change and incident management.
- Mentor engineers on infrastructure best practices, operational excellence, and secure system design.
- Participate in and help lead the on-call rotation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
- At least 5–7 years of experience as a Platform Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or SRE, including direct ownership of production systems.
- Expertise in at least one programming language such as Golang, Java, Python, Ruby, or Rust.
- Experience managing AWS cloud infrastructure and associated services related to CI/CD at scale.
- Deep production experience with Docker and containerization.
- Substantial experience participating in and leading on-call rotations and resolving production incidents.
- Experience developing and driving adoption of change and incident-management processes.
- Strong command of infrastructure-as-code, including AWS CDK or Terraform, and reusable secure IaC patterns.
- Ability to mentor engineers and influence technical decisions across teams.
- Preferred qualifications include Rust experience, operating CI/CD systems across multiple accounts and regions, package-management experience, and leading cross-team infrastructure or reliability initiatives.
