Responsibilities
- Design and implement cloud governance across AWS and GCP, including identity, account organization, access controls, and guardrails.
- Build reusable infrastructure and platform building blocks with Infrastructure as Code to enable safe and consistent provisioning.
- Create self-service capabilities that help engineers move quickly within appropriate boundaries.
- Own resource governance and visibility, including tagging, inventory, ownership data, and cross-account billing information.
- Develop reusable security primitives for secrets storage, KMS, certificate management, token vending, service-to-service authentication, and mTLS.
- Own cloud networking and operational primitives such as IP address management, DNS, service-limit monitoring, and quota alerting.
- Build, deploy, monitor, troubleshoot, and improve production systems with end-to-end ownership.
- Establish and share cloud engineering practices through documentation, internal tooling, examples, and enablement.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in cloud governance, platform engineering, and/or operations, including operating production systems at scale and carrying on-call responsibility.
- Experience completing a significant infrastructure migration, such as rearchitecting AWS account topology, introducing IaC, centralizing identity/SSO, or bringing a second cloud under governance.
- Experience building internal platforms and self-service experiences for engineers.
- Deep expertise in at least one, ideally two, of tooling and cloud ecosystems, software engineering, and operations.
- Broad AWS knowledge with particular depth in IAM/SSO and familiarity with the AWS Well-Architected Framework, plus working knowledge of GCP.
- Production experience with Infrastructure as Code and automation, using any suitable tool.
- Production software engineering experience in Go, Rust, or a comparable systems language, with the ability to build reliable maintainable services and guide technical direction.
- Hands-on production operations experience, including paging, alerting, runbooks, SLOs, and reducing risk in shared systems.
- Clear communication, stakeholder collaboration, comfort with ambiguity, and effectiveness in async globally distributed teams.
- Experience collaborating with auditors on compliance requirements is preferred.
Benefits

About Supabase
Supabase builds an open-source Postgres-based backend platform for developers, bundling database, authentication, storage, realtime APIs, edge functions, and vector search. It monetizes through a managed cloud service and enterprise offerings while remaining deployable self-hosted. Founded in 2020 and privately held, the company operates globally with a fully remote team. Developers use Supabase as a Firebase alternative to launch quickly and scale production applications on PostgreSQL.
