Base Salary
$126k - $248k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build and test new server-security features in MongoDB’s large C++ codebase.
- Develop cryptography, encryption, authentication, authorization, TLS, certificate-management, networking, resilience, observability, and compliance capabilities.
- Own features and lead investigations into complex distributed-systems, concurrency, and operating-system issues.
- Coordinate feature rollouts and changes across engineering, cloud-services, and support teams.
- Promote code quality and secure coding practices while assisting other engineers.
- Participate in code reviews and design reviews, lead new-feature development, and mentor new engineers.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience building distributed systems.
- Proficiency in a compiled language such as C++, Rust, Go, Java, or a similar language.
- Ability to reason about design choices and their effects on large-scale distributed systems such as MongoDB.
- Strong understanding of modern computer architecture and system internals.
- Degree in Computer Science or a similar field, or equivalent practical experience, with strong data-structures, algorithms, and software-design/architecture skills.
- Excellent communication skills for explaining complex technical implications to diverse stakeholders.
