Responsibilities
- Modernize and rearchitect core tax engines as part of the Engines Modernization effort.
- Troubleshoot complex issues and configure appropriate monitoring, alerting, and logging systems.
- Serve as a technical subject matter expert, mentor engineers, and lead a small team on programming and design challenges.
- Evaluate design approaches and tools, build frameworks, and improve existing systems.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Intuit teams across US and India time zones and geographically distributed engineering centers.
- Deliver business value while working with enterprise-scale systems and production operations.
Requirements
- 1/2+ years of experience working in an enterprise hosting complex systems.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Programming experience in C#, Java, Go, Python, or Kotlin, preferably C#.
- Experience with backend integration, web services, APIs, gRPC, REST/OData/GraphQL, JSON, XML, and ProtoBuf.
- Experience hosting and managing Spring Boot web services and Java applications in AWS and Kubernetes.
- Strong understanding of Docker and container orchestration systems such as ECS, EKS, and Kubernetes.
- Experience with unit, functional, scale, and load testing tools including Chai, Mocha, Jasmine, Karma, WebDriver, Nightwatch, and JMeter.
- Experience with build systems, CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps and Jenkins, and application analytics and monitoring.
- Experience with Git and GitHub repositories, Nexus, Artifactory, and package managers including yum, rpm, and apt.
- Strong Linux/Unix background and advanced Bash scripting knowledge.
- Strong understanding of security best practices in coding and operations; vulnerability management experience is a plus.
- Experience with metrics, monitoring, and alerting tools such as Splunk, Wavefront, AppDynamics, Prometheus, and PagerDuty.
- Strong communication, troubleshooting, stakeholder-management, self-direction, and cross-region collaboration skills.
