Responsibilities
- Research and develop novel AI/ML concepts, algorithms, and techniques for space and missile defense capabilities.
- Design, develop, and test scalable AI/ML software prototypes using large-scale datasets.
- Validate and deploy AI/ML models and implement algorithms in Python or similar programming languages.
- Interface with customers and stakeholders to gather mission requirements, present technical solutions, and maintain project alignment.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers while fostering technical excellence and collaboration.
- Track project milestones and budgets to support timely, high-quality outcomes.
- Support proposal-writing activities and thought leadership opportunities.
- Continue developing expertise in AI/ML, space domain technologies, and emerging R&D trends.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, computer engineering, statistics, applied mathematics, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of professional experience in AI/ML model validation and deployment.
- Proficiency in algorithm development and implementation using Python or similar programming languages.
- Strong mathematical background and knowledge of AI, ML, and deep learning concepts.
- Experience interfacing with customers and stakeholders in technical environments.
- Proficiency with revision control systems such as Git, including branching, merging, and repository management.
- Experience working effectively on remote or hybrid project teams.
- Ability to travel up to 10% within the United States for customer engagements and technical exchanges.
- Eligibility to obtain or maintain a U.S. Government Security Clearance, requiring U.S. citizenship.
- Preferred: Master’s or PhD in a relevant technical field.
- Preferred: Experience with TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, OpenCV, NumPy, SciPy, Pandas, Matplotlib, AWS, or Azure.
- Preferred: Experience with space domain awareness, satellite operations, or space operations.
