Responsibilities
- Set platform-wide technical strategy, architectural patterns, API contracts, engineering standards, and technical direction across multiple teams.
- Architect and build scalable full-stack solutions using React and TypeScript with AWS-native backend services.
- Design APIs and data integration layers that aggregate content from multiple independent domains while handling latency, partial failures, caching, and data integrity.
- Build reusable front-end components and shared micro-frontend or Module Federation modules for the platform shell.
- Design cloud-native architectures using Lambda, API Gateway, S3, DynamoDB, Step Functions, SQS/SNS, ECS, and CloudWatch.
- Establish automation, observability, security, performance, reliability, and platform readiness standards.
- Own automated end-to-end and UI testing strategy and integrate testing into CI/CD pipelines.
- Solve complex technical problems, lead design and code reviews, mentor engineers including senior engineers, and communicate trade-offs to technical and business stakeholders.
- Partner with product, operations, security, QA, and domain teams to deliver aligned cross-team initiatives.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience designing, building, and supporting scalable cloud-native full-stack applications.
- 5+ years of experience building modern front-end applications with TypeScript and React.
- Proven experience setting technical direction and standards across multiple teams or a platform.
- Strong hands-on backend experience with Node.js, preferably using TypeScript, including APIs and large-scale data integration layers.
- Deep experience with AWS services including Lambda, API Gateway, SNS, SQS, S3, Step Functions, EC2, ECS, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, and DynamoDB.
- Experience integrating and aggregating data from multiple independent backend or domain services into a single user interface.
- Strong knowledge of distributed cloud infrastructure and microservices architecture, including architectural trade-offs.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code and related tools including AWS CDK, CloudFormation, GitHub Actions, and Backstage.
- Experience building responsive, secure, high-performance UIs with React, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
- Familiarity with micro-frontend architectures, Module Federation, shared shells, and component patterns.
- Experience establishing automated end-to-end and UI testing frameworks and integrating them into CI/CD pipelines.
- Ability to mentor senior engineers and influence technical direction without direct management authority.
- Preferred qualifications include LaunchDarkly, Grafana, CloudWatch dashboards, Apache Flink or similar stream-processing tools, ML/AI lifecycle concepts, and prior experience as a technical lead, staff engineer, or architect.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States for any employer and able to communicate, collaborate, prioritize, and lead complex cross-team initiatives.
