Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, integration, and maintenance of safety-critical embedded and real-time software for aerospace systems.
  • Provide technical guidance, architectural direction, mentoring, and coaching to software development teams.
  • Decompose system requirements into high-level and low-level software requirements, designs, and code implementations.
  • Develop software architecture, detailed designs, embedded software components, and low-level peripheral and communication-interface drivers.
  • Develop software for CAN, UART, SPI, I2C, Ethernet, and ARINC 429 communication protocols.
  • Lead requirements, design, code, lifecycle, and audit reviews and support requirements traceability and certification deliverables.
  • Perform debugging, performance optimization, root cause analysis, impact analysis, and corrective and preventive actions for field and customer issues.
  • Support estimation, planning, risk management, problem report management, configuration management, release activities, and embedded product environment troubleshooting.
  • Collaborate with Systems, Verification, Hardware, Quality, and Program teams and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Minimum four years of industry experience in a safety-critical domain, preferably aerospace, involving embedded software development under DO-178 B/C processes.
  • Strong embedded software development experience using C in a safety-critical domain.
  • Knowledge of DO-178 B/C and aerospace software certification processes.
  • Experience with requirements management, configuration management, and problem report management tools.
  • Exposure to embedded systems and board bring-up activities.
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Information Technology.
