Responsibilities
- Contribute to the design, architecture, and development of applications supporting the Settlements platform.
- Implement vertical features across front-end screens and back-end systems.
- Handle project activities related to builds and deployments.
- Create software tests and verify application functionality and quality.
- Create design documentation for new software development and subsequent versions.
- Provide second-tier production support for 24/7 applications and deployment support during maintenance windows.
- Troubleshoot issues across development, QA, and production rollout cycles.
- Maintain test environments and create environment-specific configurations and applications as needed.
- Identify opportunities to improve and optimize applications.
- Collaborate with business analysts and product management to understand new requirements.
- Follow team guidelines and company software development processes and standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in Java design and development.
- At least 1 year of experience with a JavaScript framework such as React or Angular.
- Exposure to open-source frameworks such as Spring.
- Exposure to Tomcat, Spring Boot, Vert.x, or equivalent application servers.
- Solid understanding of security concerns for web-based applications.
- Ability to write basic SQL and PL/SQL queries.
- Experience writing unit tests.
- Experience with Git, Jira, Jenkins, Maven, or equivalent tools.
- Interest in building user-centric web applications with emphasis on usability, workflows, and performance.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills and a foundation in computer science fundamentals.
- Working knowledge and use of AI tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or Claude is a plus.
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
