Base Salary
$176k - $282k/yr
Responsibilities
- Perform requirements analysis, software design, development, installation, integration, evaluation, enhancement, maintenance, testing, and problem diagnosis/resolution.
- Design, develop, test, integrate, optimize, and sustain services hosted on large-scale compute clusters and AWS cloud infrastructure.
- Develop Java solutions for distributed systems involving networking and multithreading.
- Design AWS cloud architectures and use AWS SDKs, APIs, and infrastructure-as-code tools.
- Support deployment, monitoring, operation, and sustainment activities while balancing cost, capability, availability, and resilience.
- Provide technical guidance and direction to more junior programmer/analysts as needed.
- Evaluate project needs, determine task durations, and generate and review designs for technical accuracy and completeness.
Requirements
- At least eight years of software development or engineering experience across requirements analysis, development, integration, testing, maintenance, and problem diagnosis/resolution.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or four additional years of experience in place of the degree.
- Active TS/SCI security clearance with a current polygraph.
- One required cloud developer certification: AWS Certified Developer-Associate, AWS DevOps Engineer Professional, Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD), or Elastic Certified Engineer.
- Experience with Large Language Models and Retrieval-Augmented Generation.
- Expertise in AWS cloud architecture, AWS SDKs and APIs, and infrastructure-as-code tools such as CloudFormation or Terraform.
- Proficiency with continuous integration, deployment, testing, and monitoring practices; Java distributed systems; networking; multithreading; Linux; and at least one scripting language such as Python, Ruby, or Perl.
- Familiarity with microservices development, container orchestration such as Kubernetes, and security and compliance best practices.
- Ability to work independently at a high level of proficiency and communicate technical direction.
