Responsibilities
- Manage incidents, investigate business-impacting application issues, and debug and triage code effectively.
- Use application monitoring, metrics, logging, alerting, and reporting tools to identify root causes and take corrective actions.
- Improve application operational efficiency, stability, availability, and cloud resource optimization.
- Support, evolve, and deliver high-quality software, including bug fixes and enhancements to existing codebases.
- Use DevOps practices and tools to deploy and run software.
- Apply cloud and security best practices and participate in a needs-based 24x7 availability rotation.
- Mentor junior consultants and less experienced peers through technical leadership.
- Share technical expertise through speaking engagements, open-source contributions, blogs, and other community activities.
Requirements
- Experience with Java or .NET, cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, and scripting languages such as Python or PowerShell.
- Understanding of monolithic, N-tier, layered, microservices, and serverless architectures.
- Experience with relational databases such as MS SQL, MySQL, or PostgreSQL, as well as relational or non-relational databases.
- Experience with Docker, Jenkins, and Azure Pipelines.
- Experience with application monitoring tools such as Datadog, Prometheus, or Grafana, including metrics, reporting, and corrective actions.
- Strong debugging, triaging, communication, collaboration, and technical leadership skills.
- Ability to deliver well-tested, high-quality bug fixes and enhancements.
- Comfort with Agile methods such as Scrum and/or Kanban.
- Ability to mentor junior-level consultants and advocate for technical excellence, cloud best practices, and security best practices.
- Presence in the external technology community and willingness to share expertise.
