Base Salary
$150k - $175k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design scalable, maintainable systems and abstractions for high-volume data processing.
- Build and maintain data ingestion frameworks that process bounded and unbounded data, real-time streams, API calls, and webhooks.
- Maintain and scale large data lake pipelines for performance and cost efficiency.
- Profile, debug, and optimize distributed workloads and remove performance bottlenecks.
- Write unit and integration tests for data pipelines and maintain production reliability.
- Collaborate with product managers and EHR specialists to translate clinical behaviors into analytical datasets.
- Create design documents, architecture decisions, and technical system references.
- Use AI-assisted coding tools such as Claude and GitHub Copilot and help the team adopt agentic workflows.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience building production software.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals, including SOLID principles, design patterns, clean architecture, algorithms, data structures, and distributed computing.
- Proficiency in Python and SQL; familiarity with JavaScript is a plus.
- Practical knowledge of open table formats such as Delta Lake and big data file formats including Apache Parquet and Apache Avro.
- Experience implementing infrastructure as code for automated deployment and management of data pipelines.
- Hands-on experience designing data ingestion frameworks through APIs and event-driven architectures.
- Experience designing and scaling cloud-native data platforms and orchestrating workloads using AWS and Kubernetes.
- Fluency in unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.
- Preferred experience with agentic systems, Claude or LLM integration, AI-assisted development, observability, monitoring, tracing, Kafka, Flink, and data security in regulated or high-security environments.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident.
