Responsibilities
- Design, code, and operate high-performance data processing systems and backend services on the JVM platform, primarily using Scala
- Develop systems for Hiya’s phone call processing pipeline and customer-facing web applications
- Understand and work across the stack, including AWS, data storage technologies, stream processing, and Scala/Typelevel components
- Own the systems developed by the team end to end, including deployment and operations
- Participate in on-call rotations where applicable
- Collaborate with and learn from other team members
Requirements
- Relevant BSc or MSc degree
- 2–3+ years of relevant work experience
- Experience or interest in functional programming in a typed setting
- Familiarity with data storage and processing systems such as PostgreSQL, Amazon DynamoDB, Amazon Redshift, and Apache Spark
- Ability to collaborate and communicate with local and remote team members in English and Hungarian
- Ability and desire to own design and architecture end to end
- Customer-focused approach to providing solutions
- Commitment to iteration and continuous improvement
