Responsibilities
- Own the direction, roadmap, technical decisions, and outcomes for a product surface, platform area, or cross-team capability.
- Take ambiguous business problems from initial concept through production and evaluate whether the work helped customers.
- Build and scale platforms or tooling that other teams adopt, and make architecture decisions spanning multiple teams.
- Define AI engineering standards, patterns, context, evaluation harnesses, and safeguards against incorrect agent output.
- Partner with product, design, data, and customers to shape what to build and learn whether it worked.
- Coach Senior engineers through complex technical and product decisions.
Requirements
- Substantial experience shipping production systems and operating with strong technical judgment in ambiguous environments.
- Demonstrated ability to change how a team builds with AI and make the new approach stick.
- Deep strength in either shared systems such as platforms, reliability, security, and AI development harnesses, or customer-facing product ownership, with fluency in the other area.
- Ability to own outcomes across teams, make difficult-to-reverse architecture decisions, partner with product, design, and data, and coach Senior engineers.
- Strong impact orientation, curiosity, and ability to identify and advance problems without waiting for them to be formally assigned.
