Responsibilities

Lead the technical design, development, and delivery of backend services and platforms.
Drive architecture decisions in collaboration with architects and engineering teams.
Provide technical leadership, mentorship, code reviews, design reviews, and day-to-day engineering guidance.
Define and promote engineering best practices, coding standards, and quality guidelines.
Deliver features and enhancements meeting business, user, performance, and reliability requirements.
Troubleshoot complex production issues, identify root causes, and implement sustainable solutions.
Ensure software quality through automated testing, code reviews, and continuous integration practices.
Collaborate with product managers, architects, and engineering teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
Improve performance, security, scalability, and maintainability across backend services.
Identify technical risks, propose mitigation strategies, and address architectural and operational challenges.
Support engineer growth through coaching, mentoring, and knowledge sharing.

10+ years of professional experience in backend software engineering.
Expert-level Kotlin proficiency and highly desirable Java experience.
Strong experience designing and building microservice architectures.
Strong Quarkus proficiency; Spring Framework experience is a plus.
Experience with event-driven architectures and message brokers such as Kafka.
Strong understanding of distributed systems, scalability, resilience, and observability.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and version control systems such as Git.
Strong knowledge of performance optimization, secure coding practices, and application security.
Experience working in Agile environments and applying DevOps practices.
Strong knowledge of core AWS services and Kubernetes.
Proven experience leading technical initiatives and influencing architectural decisions across teams.
Banking, fintech, or highly regulated enterprise experience is a plus.
Fluent spoken and written English is required.
