Responsibilities
- Contribute to the evolution and maintenance of Notion’s internal async task runner for over 100 million global users.
- Help maintain reliable, efficient, scalable, and secure infrastructure systems and evaluate new technologies.
- Debug live production systems, replace components, manage failovers, and participate in an on-call incident-response rotation.
- Partner with product engineers and other infrastructure teams to align platforms with business and product needs.
- Support engineering teams by providing guidance and solutions that enable reliable system development.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of software development experience.
- Understanding of distributed systems and the tradeoffs among consistency, latency, and scalability.
- Ability to take ownership of ambiguous problems, prioritize business impact, and balance craft, speed, and maintainability.
- Ability to collaborate across teams and support engineers who depend on the async task runner.
- Curiosity and willingness to adopt AI tools; deep AI expertise is not required.
