Responsibilities
- Own and improve systems that build GHES operating system images, containers, and appliance artifacts.
- Design, maintain, and evolve release pipelines for package generation, validation, and certification.
- Build and operate reliable, representative, and scalable integration test environments.
- Improve CI quality, test execution, signal reliability, issue detection, triage, and failure resolution.
- Enable publication and distribution of GHES artifacts through Azure, AWS, and GCP.
- Partner with platform, infrastructure, release, and product teams on release readiness, debugging, and root-cause analysis.
- Improve the safety, repeatability, observability, and compliance of release and certification workflows.
- Provide operational support and investigate critical issues affecting builds, tests, certification, and package delivery.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of software engineering experience for SDE II or at least 7 years for Senior Software Engineer, with production coding experience.
- An associate, bachelor's, master's, or doctorate degree in a listed technical field may qualify with the corresponding experience pathway, or equivalent experience may substitute.
- Production software engineering experience using one or more of C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, Go, Ruby, Rust, or Python.
- Experience building and operating production CI/CD or release pipelines for complex distributed systems.
- Experience with Linux-based systems, containers, and software packaging or artifact delivery.
- Experience troubleshooting build, test, and release failures across multiple layers of the stack.
- Ability to improve engineering systems through automation, observability, and process simplification.
