Principal Member of Technical Staff - Java + Node.Js (GenAI search)
InformaticaResponsibilities
- Lead the architecture and delivery of GenAI search, conversational multi-turn search, personalization, contextual discovery, and scalable indexing capabilities.
- Define the technical vision and roadmap for the Search and Personalization domain in alignment with the AgentExchange marketplace strategy.
- Integrate LLM and GenAI capabilities into search, including AI overviews, query suggestions, semantic search, and conversational retrieval.
- Drive platform modernization, including migration of search services from Heroku to Falcon.
- Own observability, telemetry, latency, relevance, availability, safe-change, and security governance across the search stack.
- Serve as the technical authority by mentoring engineers, influencing cross-functional stakeholders, and delivering shared discovery infrastructure across AgentExchange surfaces.
Requirements
- 10+ years of software engineering experience with technical leadership on enterprise-scale search, recommendation, or personalization systems.
- Deep expertise in indexing pipelines, ranking, query understanding, relevance tuning, and search infrastructure such as Elasticsearch, OpenSearch, or Solr.
- Strong backend development experience with Node.js, Java, or equivalent technologies for high-throughput services.
- Experience designing recommendation or personalization systems and real-time or near-real-time data pipelines.
- Hands-on experience integrating LLMs or GenAI into search products, including summaries, query expansion, semantic search, or conversational retrieval.
- Experience with observability, telemetry, latency SLOs, service ownership, safe change practices, and production reliability.
- Preferred qualifications include conversational search, agentic systems, MCP tools/resources, A2A patterns, embedded discovery, e-commerce search, personalization at scale, platform migrations, security governance, and Salesforce Platform expertise.
- Excellent communication and consensus-building skills, a polyglot mindset, and proficiency in written and spoken English.
