Responsibilities
- Lead a team of SREs designing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting a managed AWS Databricks platform.
- Perform platform design, setup, configuration, workspace administration, resource monitoring, and operational support.
- Create multi-AZ, multi-region, and multi-cloud resiliency strategies for business-critical products and services.
- Evaluate architectural designs and technical credentials with vendors, startups, and internal teams.
- Improve observability, alerting, capacity planning, infrastructure automation, and deployment processes.
- Develop, troubleshoot, review, and debug secure production software and code written by others.
- Apply SRE practices including incident response, root cause analysis, postmortems, recurring-issue elimination, and reliability improvement.
- Lead adoption of AI-assisted reliability workflows with appropriate validation, traceability, auditability, resiliency, and security controls.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 10+ years of applied experience.
- Strong understanding of SRE principles, including SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, and incident management.
- Experience with monitoring tools, automation frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
- Proficiency in Python application development and automated unit testing.
- Experience using enterprise-authorized AI capabilities to improve reliability engineering workflows, with awareness of data sensitivity and strong validation practices.
- Ability to establish safe AI usage practices for operations, including review, approval, and escalation expectations.
- Experience developing with Terraform and understanding Terraform Enterprise.
- Knowledge of distributed compute frameworks such as Spark, Glue, and MapReduce.
- Preferred experience with Spark data pipelines and AWS and Databricks platform administration.
- Preferred knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, distributed systems, and large-scale data processing.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.
