Responsibilities
- Design, build, maintain, and optimize resilient cloud infrastructure for scalable and reliable applications.
- Establish and manage monitoring and alerting systems, use SLI, SLO, SLA, and error-budget concepts, and improve service reliability.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning, system configuration, repetitive operational tasks, and workflows using tools such as Rundeck and Jenkins.
- Develop standard operating procedures and promote common tooling, reusable components, resilience, and reduced manual effort.
- Participate in major incident response, resolve production issues, conduct root-cause analyses, and implement permanent fixes.
- Collaborate with software engineers and cross-functional stakeholders to gather requirements, execute proofs of concept, and guide resilient designs.
- Support cloud, on-premises, virtualization, storage, networking, operating-system, and firewall environments.
Requirements
- 9–12 years of experience for an Associate Architect role.
- Expertise in at least one of AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Extensive experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Proficiency in shell and Python scripting, with experience using Ansible or Puppet and Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Hands-on experience configuring Prometheus, Grafana, or the ELK stack, and implementing OpenTelemetry.
- Strong understanding of SLI, SLO, SLA, and error budgeting, plus cloud monitoring and logging.
- Experience with VMware, Hyper-V, or KVM; storage technologies and protocols including NAS, SAN, EFS, NFS, FTP, SFTP, SMTP, NTP, DNS, and DHCP; and networking and firewall technologies.
- Strong hands-on experience with Linux internals and RHEL, CentOS, or Rocky Linux, plus experience supporting Windows operating systems.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, adaptability, proactive learning, broad systems thinking, and advocacy for reliability initiatives.
- Preferred experience with Git, Jenkins, Rundeck, ArgoCD, Crossplane, MySQL, Hadoop, cloud cost optimization, generative AI, cloud security, disaster recovery, business continuity, and ITIL.
