Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of video processing and ad insertion software integrated with Hotstar media pipelines.
- Architect scalable, robust, and efficient solutions for large-scale video content processing.
- Prototype and develop AI-driven quality assessment and dynamic bitrate optimization capabilities.
- Design and implement algorithms that improve encoding efficiency through video intelligence.
- Build automated video quality control systems for source content and encoded JioHotstar streams.
- Implement media features in live-streaming workflows with observability and resiliency.
- Support state-of-the-art media features and collaborate with research and product teams to evaluate and integrate emerging video technologies.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of experience in multimedia software development, with 9 to 12 years preferred.
- Expert proficiency in C++ or Java and strong object-oriented programming fundamentals.
- Deep understanding of audio/video compression and processing, video codecs, HDR standards, audio codecs, and immersive video formats.
- Strong background in image and signal processing, including algorithm design and implementation.
- Experience with live-streaming workflows, systems, streaming protocols, and network topologies.
- Hands-on experience with FFmpeg, GStreamer, NVIDIA DeepStream, x265, and SVT-AV1.
- Experience with large-scale distributed systems and cloud-computing platforms.
- Knowledge of HLS, DASH, CMAF, encryption standards, CDN architectures, and delivery mechanisms.
- Experience with machine learning and GenAI systems applied to media processing.
- BE/B.Tech in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering or equivalent; MS or PhD is a plus.
