Base Salary
$180k - $180k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design systems, software integrations, and architecture patterns across a diverse software engineering ecosystem.
- Develop architecturally impactful software components, frameworks, libraries, application specifications, and coding standards.
- Coordinate system and subsystem design and broker solution implementation across product teams.
- Lead product-group technology strategy, critical-path technology design, platform expertise, and technology-roadmap planning.
- Build and maintain scalable, stable, resilient data and software systems, including data pipelines and streaming solutions.
- Lead critical-incident resolution and promote CI/CD improvements to deployment and build processes.
- Evaluate software solutions and technology vendors, documenting their strengths, weaknesses, and business impact.
- Establish engineering standards and best practices and mentor, train, and guide software engineers.
- Serve as a technical leader and subject matter expert in data engineering, operations, and support processes.
- Contribute to ETL, data warehousing, BI development, reporting, testing, UAT, and integration testing.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, or Data Science and Engineering.
- At least 7 years of progressively responsible, post-baccalaureate experience as a data engineer, software engineer, or technology consultant in engineering environments.
- At least 7 years of data engineering experience with Apache Spark or PySpark and Hadoop.
- At least 7 years of experience building batch or streaming data pipelines.
- At least 5 years of experience with Python or Shell Scripting.
- At least 5 years of experience with CI/CD practices using GitHub, GitLab, and Bamboo.
- At least 4 years of experience with Java or Scala and at least 4 years with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- At least 3 years of experience with Chef or Terraform and at least 3 years with Apache Kafka or Kinesis.
- At least 1 year of experience with dbt, Databricks with Delta Lake, or Snowflake.
- At least 1 year of experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or ECS.
- Demonstrable experience with ETL, SQL, Informatica PowerCenter, SQL Server, DB2, Oracle, data warehouse schemas, BI development, reporting, test cases, UAT, and integration testing.
- Experience with STAR, Snowflake, and 3NF data warehouse models is required.
