Base Salary
$37k - $82k/yr
Responsibilities
- Support development, integration, testing, and other software life-cycle activities for aircraft embedded software applications.
- Design and implement software solutions for mission-critical aerospace and defense systems.
- Work with software engineers, systems engineers, and end users to address technical system and software integration problems.
- Support requirements, design, development, integration, test, and potential maintenance activities across military and commercial programs.
- Develop and troubleshoot software for avionics systems, displays, hardware interfaces, and real-time operation.
- Participate as a member of a multidisciplinary team using software configuration management and Agile development practices.
Requirements
- Must be pursuing a bachelor’s or advanced degree in an applicable discipline and remain actively enrolled through completion of the internship or co-op session.
- Must have at least 60 credit hours by the start of the internship or co-op session.
- Must demonstrate programming experience with one or more of C, C++, C#, Ada, or Python.
- Must have classroom or other experience with software life-cycle stages including requirements, design, development, integration, and testing.
- Must be able to work closely with a multidisciplinary team and demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Must have experience developing software in a Windows environment and working knowledge of Shell, Perl, or Python scripting.
- Must understand software systems design, integration, and management.
- Preferred qualifications include experience with RTOS platforms such as Linux, Green Hills Integrity, or VxWorks; Unix/Linux environments; embedded avionics; software optimization; hardware-interface drivers; computer protocols; debugging tools; software requirements; computer architecture; configuration management; Git; Azure DevOps; parallel programming; and DO-178C DAL C processes.
- U.S. citizenship is required, and the candidate must be eligible to obtain a security clearance.
