Responsibilities
- Define and scope firmware requirements and design and document firmware architecture.
- Code, test, and integrate firmware into larger modular systems.
- Develop familiarity with C, C#, Python, PowerBI, and Ceedling Unit Test.
- Apply embedded software and firmware testing techniques.
- Create functional block diagrams, flow diagrams, state diagrams, and other product development documentation.
- Collaborate with project teams and the firmware competency through meetings and peer reviews.
- Build understanding of electronic locking systems, access control solutions, and basic electronics.
- Use digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, and digital logic analyzers.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a degree in a relevant discipline such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering Technology, or Electrical Engineering Technology.
- At least one class in the C programming language, with mid-level C proficiency preferred.
- Basic understanding of electronics.
- Preferred knowledge of embedded microprocessors and their associated IDEs and tools.
- Demonstrated leadership ability and initiative through school, sports, residential, work, or project activities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Resiliency, adaptability, effective listening, time management, and creative problem-solving skills.
- Desire to learn and develop through impactful projects.
