Responsibilities
- Design and develop business and non-functional features using Java and advanced object-oriented programming principles.
- Modernize the Lucene-based backend, introduce HTML5 thin clients, improve shared caching, and support high-throughput processing of millions of events per day.
- Collaborate with global developers, business analysts, operations, testing teams, and support teams to implement requirements and deliver solutions.
- Apply Agile/Scrum and test-driven development practices to support high-quality, zero-defect delivery.
- Use Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, and TeamCity for task management, documentation, version control, and build and deployment workflows.
- Investigate production issues and contribute to platform stability, maintainability, and resilience improvements.
- Work onsite in the Prague office three days per week under a hybrid work model.
Requirements
- Strong experience with Java, advanced concepts, and object-oriented design patterns.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and modern development workflows.
- Proficiency with Git and build tools such as Maven or Gradle.
- Working knowledge of Spring or Spring Boot.
- Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases.
- Hands-on experience with unit and integration testing and release management.
- Comfort working in Linux environments and scripting with Python, Perl, or Bash.
- Understanding of web services, middleware, and messaging systems.
- Exposure to Docker and Kubernetes.
- Understanding of microservices architecture and scalable, distributed systems.
- Ability to collaborate with global teams and learn the Cash Equities business and relevant regulatory requirements.
