Responsibilities

  • Participate in requirements, design, and functional specification reviews to ensure testability and coverage.
  • Develop test plans, test strategies, and test procedures for system, subsystem, and integration testing.
  • Design and execute manual and automated test cases using test tools, simulators, and HIL systems.
  • Perform software and hardware validation against system requirements, interface documents, and functional specifications.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams and suppliers to identify and resolve defects.
  • Document defects and support troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.
  • Generate test reports, metrics, and status updates for project and program reviews.
  • Develop test automation scripts and utilities and support continuous improvement of test processes and tools.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Hands-on experience in software test engineering, including debugging and validating complex systems.
  • Experience testing embedded or control software in safety-critical or regulated environments.
  • Strong understanding of control system architectures and CAN, Ethernet, and serial communication interfaces.
  • Familiarity with ECUs and their interaction with sensors, actuators, and subsystems.
  • Experience analyzing and validating system and software requirements and creating test plans, strategies, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of diagnostics, events, fault handling, and logging mechanisms.
  • Experience with Windows and Linux environments.
  • Strong attention to detail and a structured, analytical approach to testing.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Railway, locomotive, or transportation control systems experience is preferred.
  • Familiarity with database systems, SDLC, V-Model development, and ALM tools is preferred.
  • Experience with automated test development using Python, C/C++, CAPL, or similar languages is preferred.
  • Exposure to HIL, SIL, or simulation-based testing environments is preferred.
