Base Salary
$131k - $198k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build and evolve core AI platform capabilities for developing, running, and scaling GenAI applications across Samsara.
- Design and implement shared execution patterns, APIs, and services for multi-step AI workflows and system integrations.
- Develop reliable and extensible backend systems for AI-driven experiences across the sales funnel and beyond.
- Work across backend services, execution infrastructure, AI model integrations, and related tooling.
- Collaborate with AI engineers, backend engineers, data scientists, product partners, and sales operators to deliver production-ready platform capabilities.
- Make architectural decisions and establish shared execution patterns and platform contracts for S+Engine and future AI use cases.
Requirements
- At least 6 years of professional software engineering experience, excluding internships and contract roles, focused on large-scale production backend or platform systems.
- Hands-on experience building and operating GenAI-powered systems in production, including integrations with LLMs or similar AI services.
- Experience designing GenAI workflows involving prompt orchestration, tool execution, routing, or multi-step reasoning pipelines.
- Experience designing and implementing distributed systems with multi-step execution, asynchronous workflows, and clear service contracts.
- Strong proficiency in backend programming languages such as Python, Java, or Go, plus experience building reliable services with defined input and output schemas.
- Expertise in Python and GenAI frameworks such as LangChain, OpenAI SDK, and MCP.
- Familiarity with GenAI quality and safety practices, including output validation, structured responses, retries, fallbacks, evaluation, and monitoring.
- Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, cross-functional environments with strong product sense.
- Located in and authorized to work in the United States.
- Experience with AI products in sales, go-to-market, or revenue operations contexts is preferred.
- Familiarity with Salesforce, Gong, Outreach, or similar CRM and enablement platforms is preferred.
- Experience integrating vector databases, retrieval systems, or streaming voice and chat pipelines is preferred.
- Track record of leading major technical initiatives or mentoring engineers is preferred.
- Exposure to cost optimization, model evaluation, observability, and latency management is preferred.
