Base Salary

$150k - $175k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Own the technical direction and personally build internal AI systems and reference architectures.
  • Design and ship RAG pipelines, agent loops, evaluations, an LLM gateway, observability, cost controls, and prompt-injection defenses.
  • Lead end-to-end delivery from requirements and prototyping through deployment, instrumentation, UAT, and iteration.
  • Manage the AI Engineer and set technical standards through code review, evaluation coverage, and cost-per-outcome discipline.
  • Run stakeholder intake, determine whether use cases should be built, bought, or declined, and present outcomes to executives and business teams.
  • Recruit and operate an AI champions network and community of practice across business units and partner operations.
  • Create role-specific AI literacy programs and manage training vendor and certification decisions.
  • Own AI communications, including Slack, newsletters, town halls, demos, office hours, and success-story reporting.
  • Track adoption telemetry by team, tool, and role, and design interventions to address adoption gaps.
  • Drive adoption of acceptable-use policies and new AI tools, including licensing decisions based on ROI and usage data.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, including production LLM systems personally architected and shipped.
  • Deep hands-on proficiency with Python and cloud-native AWS development.
  • Strong knowledge of evaluations, cost-per-outcome, latency, and prompt-injection defense.
  • Daily technical familiarity with Copilot, Cursor, Claude, Glean, and ChatGPT.
  • Experience defining adoption metrics, instrumenting telemetry, and reporting to executive audiences.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills across business, technical, and executive audiences.
  • Demonstrated success driving organization-wide behavior change and operating a champions network or community of practice at 500+ employee scale.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, legal, security, HR, and business leadership.
  • Preferred qualifications include fintech, lending, financial services, InfoSec, DevOps, regulated-industry, or PE-portfolio company experience.
  • Experience with AI governance frameworks such as NIST AI RMF or ISO 42001 is preferred.
  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant field or compelling self-taught equivalent is preferred.
