Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs for the Enterprise Data Access Service and TAG data products.
- Define API contracts with OpenAPI specifications and implement secure, versioned APIs.
- Design and develop scalable, highly available Azure-hosted application services, microservices, and API hosting solutions.
- Implement monitoring, logging, telemetry, health monitoring, and performance optimization using Azure Monitor and related services.
- Develop secure integrations with VA Profile, VBMS, VES, and other enterprise systems.
- Collaborate on technical design, documentation, code reviews, Agile delivery, and enterprise integration planning.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
- 8+ years of software engineering experience designing and developing enterprise applications.
- 5+ years of experience developing RESTful APIs, enterprise integration services, and cloud-native applications using Microsoft Azure.
- Strong expertise with REST APIs, OpenAPI/Swagger, JSON, OAuth 2.0, mutual TLS, and secure API design.
- Proficiency in C#, Java, or Python, plus experience with Git, Azure DevOps, Azure Monitor, and cloud-based application development.
- Experience designing scalable, highly available distributed systems and collaborating in Agile development teams.
- Preferred qualifications include federal agency experience, Microsoft Azure certifications, and experience with Azure App Services, Azure Functions, Azure API Management, Azure Service Bus, and Event Grid.
- Familiarity with ILER, VA Profile, VBMS, NIST, FISMA, FedRAMP, Zero Trust architecture, and DevSecOps practices is desirable.
- U.S. citizenship and the ability to complete a background check and obtain and maintain a Government/Public Trust clearance are required.
