Responsibilities
- Contribute to the technical vision and make architecture decisions for multi-cloud infrastructure, in-memory technologies, and system design.
- Develop Python APIs, services, background workers, and integrations using Postgres and Redis.
- Design scalable, reliable, maintainable systems and optimize data models, SQL queries, indexes, and database performance.
- Build and maintain third-party API integrations, authentication and authorization, and asynchronous data flows.
- Drive operational maturity through observability, incident response, on-call practices, reliability goals, and post-incident improvements.
- Conduct code reviews, write documentation, and develop unit and integration test suites.
- Collaborate with software and production engineers on scalable services, feature rollouts, reliability, and performance.
- Participate in on-call rotation and production support while maintaining Eastern Time working hours.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 7+ years of experience programming in Python.
- 5+ years of experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS or GCP.
- 5+ years of experience with Terraform or infrastructure as code concepts.
- 5+ years of experience with continuous integration and build tools.
- Experience architecting systems from the ground up for scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
- Experience with in-memory data processing and database monitoring and diagnostic tools, preferably Datadog.
- Experience with Domain-Driven Design, third-party API integration, authentication and authorization, and asynchronous data flows.
- Strong experience developing unit and integration tests and defining test strategy and coverage expectations.
- Proficiency in SQL query writing and optimization.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and practical experience leading Agile development environments.
