Base Salary
$181k - $271k/yr
Responsibilities
- Architect and implement high-performance C++ and Python systems across cross-platform environments.
- Lead the design and integration of distributed systems, simulation tools, and third-party hardware and software.
- Define technical direction, design patterns, and integration practices across projects.
- Guide development of messaging and API layers using technologies such as gRPC, REST, and ZeroMQ.
- Own and evolve CI/CD pipelines and build tooling using GitLab CI, Docker, Conan, and CMake.
- Lead debugging and optimization of real-time and multithreaded systems.
- Drive end-to-end integration planning, implementation, and verification across simulation and operational systems.
- Mentor engineers and improve shared tooling and development processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with 10 years of related experience, or a master’s degree with 9 years, a PhD with 7 years, or equivalent work experience.
- Advanced experience designing and maintaining large C++ systems, including C++14, C++17, C++20, and legacy C++98/03 codebases.
- Proficiency in Linux/Unix environments and system-level development and debugging tools.
- Strong experience with distributed systems, real-time processing, and hardware/software interfaces.
- Significant experience with CI/CD systems, containerization, and build tooling.
- Proficiency in Python and familiarity with scripting and automation tools.
- Demonstrated success leading efforts involving 10 or more contributors, including technical planning and mentorship.
- Strong understanding of networking concepts and communication protocols.
- Active SECRET clearance.
- Real-time or distributed simulation experience, including AFSIM or NGTS, is preferred.
- Familiarity with gRPC, REST APIs, message queues, UCI, OMS, data buses, avionics interface protocols, autonomy frameworks, and modeling or analysis pipelines is preferred.
- Ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance is preferred.
