Responsibilities
- Build reusable, component-based web interfaces with React and Next.js for conversational travel planning and booking.
- Translate product concepts, designs, and wireframes into maintainable frontend code while partnering with Product, Design, and backend engineering.
- Develop performant, scalable, reliable, cross-browser web applications and resolve performance bottlenecks.
- Run experiments and use product data to guide traveler-experience and interaction decisions.
- Integrate AI/ML-enabled capabilities such as assistant-driven planning, personalization, and recommendations safely into web features.
- Drive frontend architecture, reusable patterns, accessibility, usability, and engineering quality.
- Mentor engineers through code reviews, technical design feedback, and knowledge sharing.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent related professional experience.
- 8+ years of experience developing production-quality code in a professional software engineering role.
- Deep frontend/web development expertise with JavaScript, React, HTML, CSS, and reusable component-based interfaces.
- Strong computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming.
- Ability to build fast, scalable, reliable web applications with maintainable and testable frontend architecture.
- Familiarity with AI-driven systems, tools, or workflows and applying AI/ML concepts safely to real-world products.
- Experience with Next.js or similar React frameworks and server-driven or server-rendered UI patterns is preferred.
- Experience with Node.js and APIs, accessible and inclusive web interfaces, A/B testing, AI/ML or generative-AI web integrations, and AI-assisted development tools such as Claude is preferred.
- Experience in e-commerce, marketplace, or travel domains and demonstrated ability to improve frontend architecture and mentor engineers are preferred.
