Base Salary
$120k - $304k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own significant systems and core platform capabilities from design through production operation.
- Design and implement AI workflow automation, continuous integration and delivery orchestration, build and validation services, developer experiences, code intelligence, and distributed services.
- Build evaluation and validation systems for AI-assisted changes, builds, tests, deployments, and code-intelligence experiences.
- Scale automation and delivery platforms for large repositories, high-volume builds, parallel validation, resilient integrations, and cost control.
- Define service-level objectives, alerts, runbooks, incident practices, authentication, secrets management, and network policies, and participate in on-call ownership.
- Expose capabilities through Model Context Protocol and APIs and integrate them with existing engineering workflows.
- Lead technical reviews, contribute to architecture and roadmap decisions, mentor engineers, and drive technical solutions through delivery.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field and 4+ years of technical engineering experience with coding, or equivalent experience.
- Coding experience in C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
- Ability to meet Microsoft Cloud Background Check and applicable customer or government security screening requirements.
- Preferred experience building, testing, launching, and operating backend services or data-intensive production systems.
- Preferred experience owning significant system design and architecture, writing design documents, and leading technical reviews.
- Preferred experience with distributed systems, CI/CD platforms, workflow orchestration, developer automation, data pipelines, Kubernetes, search, retrieval, or code intelligence.
- Preferred 3+ years delivering production software involving AI-enabled automation, agentic workflows, automated software engineering tasks, evaluation frameworks, retrieval-augmented generation, embedding pipelines, or Model Context Protocol.
- Preferred experience operating Qdrant, FAISS, Neo4j, or PostgreSQL at scale.
- Preferred experience with infrastructure as code, Kubernetes deployment tooling, gRPC service design, FastAPI, TypeScript, and React.
- Preferred experience building developer tools, engineering automation, CI/CD platforms, build or test systems, static analysis, code search, or code-intelligence products.
- Preferred experience leading technical workstreams, mentoring engineers, or owning systems used by other teams.
- A master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field is preferred.
Benefits
- The typical U.S. base pay range is listed as $119,800-$234,700 per year for Software Engineering IC4 and $142,800-$274,800 per year for Software Engineering IC5, with different ranges for the San Francisco Bay Area and New York City metropolitan area.
- Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
