Responsibilities
- Build and own the connector and canonical adapter layer for payment providers.
- Migrate payment methods from redirect flows to server-to-server and embedded flows and measure the results.
- Own reconciliation, transaction-status handling, method configuration, and payment flows into the client portal downstream of the orchestration layer.
- Implement reliable end-to-end transaction status handling through polling, idempotent processing, and reconciliation.
- Build observability for transaction status and provider performance across payment providers.
- Specify, design, advocate for, and review orchestration-platform behavior including transaction state machines, idempotency, polling, routing, and cascading rules.
- Support integration work for the card program and extend integrations to acquired entities through configuration.
- Own architecture decisions, engineering standards, root-cause fixes, and provider integration issues.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of backend engineering experience.
- Strong TypeScript and Node.js skills and comfort with relational databases.
- Production experience with payment authorization, callbacks, refunds, reconciliation, and retry behavior.
- Practical experience with idempotency, asynchronous status handling, transaction state machines, and partial-failure design.
- Experience integrating third-party APIs of uneven quality and working directly with provider integration teams.
- Ability to own services and make architecture decisions rather than only close tickets.
- Working communicative proficiency in English and Russian.
