Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain complex modules for cloud-based streaming services.
- Own software components and initiatives end to end while maintaining engineering quality and operational standards.
- Deploy and operate services across multiple AWS regions using ECS, EC2, and related AWS services.
- Improve performance and resiliency through caching, eviction, retry, dead-letter recovery, and scaling strategies.
- Optimize memory and data access using memory-mapped or pager-based approaches.
- Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement solutions.
- Contribute to system design, architecture discussions, technical planning, and roadmap initiatives.
- Automate and simplify engineering workflows, including the use of AI-assisted development tools.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 4–5 years of hands-on software development experience building and operating production services.
- Strong JavaScript, TypeScript, and Node.js experience, or solid backend development experience in another language with the ability to adapt quickly to Node.js.
- Hands-on AWS infrastructure experience, particularly with ECS and EC2.
- Knowledge of DevOps fundamentals, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, and multi-environment deployments.
- Strong knowledge of algorithms, data structures, mathematics, performance optimization, object-oriented or functional programming, concurrency, and troubleshooting.
- Experience with high-traffic distributed systems, REST or WebSocket APIs, and JSON or Protobuf data formats.
- Familiarity with logging, metrics, tracing, and observability practices.
- Preferred experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, Jenkins, Harness, Docker, Kubernetes, CDNs, global data distribution, or Rust.
- Preferred knowledge of memory-mapped files, RocksDB, caching and eviction algorithms, pager or streaming reader design, 3D model data, geometry or mesh processing, point clouds, level of detail, compression, or streaming pipelines.
- Preferred familiarity with Dynatrace, Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, HTTP/2, QUIC, and WebSockets.
