Responsibilities
- Design and optimize multi-CDN content delivery architectures for streaming products and services.
- Use log analysis and observability systems to troubleshoot issues, diagnose performance problems, and drive rapid resolution.
- Improve reliability through peer review, resilience enhancements, incident reduction, and operational best practices.
- Develop functional and non-functional test methods and procedures, including distributed performance testing.
- Create and maintain production operations runbooks and checklists.
- Participate in an on-call rotation to resolve operational issues and performance degradation.
- Automate operational tooling and reduce toil using Python, Bash, Infrastructure as Code, and test automation.
- Collaborate with distributed engineering, vendor, and SRE teams across multiple time zones.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a relevant field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Production experience with TCP/IP, IPv4, IPv6, DNS, HTTP, TLS, and load balancing.
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation, including module design and peer review.
- Experience with software repositories, CI/CD pipelines, and test automation.
- Scripting and programming experience in Python or Bash for operational automation and tooling.
- Ability to work with SRE teams and technologies to support safe and consistent operations.
- CDN or web server/proxy configuration experience is desirable but not required; CDN training is provided.
- Experience with cloud networking, firewalls, security and data products is a plus.
- Familiarity with large-scale distributed performance testing, including functional and non-functional testing, is a plus.
- Excellent written and spoken English and the ability to collaborate effectively in a distributed, multicultural team.
