Responsibilities
- Prepare technical design specifications and written knowledge-transfer materials.
- Review functional requirements, analysis, and design documents and provide feedback.
- Implement, test, maintain, and support software based on technical specifications.
- Lead architecture, design, and implementation of robust, scalable web services and distributed systems.
- Improve existing codebases, identify system-quality issues and improvement opportunities, and establish standard operating procedures.
- Conduct peer reviews, architecture reviews, and code reviews.
- Lead and mentor less experienced developers within project teams.
- Collaborate with colleagues, product management, stakeholders, and customer support to implement designs and resolve technical issues.
- Investigate and apply relevant technologies and participate in additional projects as needed.
Requirements
- At least 12 years of experience in Java Full Stack Development or Java Enterprise Edition.
- At least 10 years of experience developing systems or software for large business environments and mission-critical, low-latency solutions.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; a master's degree is a plus.
- Strong object-oriented design and development and service-oriented architecture principles, preferably implemented in Java.
- Strong experience leading architecture, design, and implementation of robust, highly scalable web services.
- At least 5 years of experience developing and debugging distributed systems and working with cloud-based big data systems.
- Experience with AWS and/or Azure SaaS infrastructure, CI/CD and DevOps technologies, and extensive debugging.
- Understanding of unit testing, test-driven development, functional testing, and performance testing.
- Experience with React, SQL and NoSQL database systems, data architecture, event buses such as Pulsar, and cloud-based big data solutions such as Snowflake is preferred.
- Experience with software security-enhancing tools and best practices and at least one shell scripting language.
- Understanding of big data, machine learning, LLMs, automation, engineering toolchains, and cloud, DevOps, or AI modernization initiatives.
- Ability to translate AI innovation into business and productivity impact and operate across business strategy, product strategy, technical design, and implementation.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, presentation, facilitation, decision-making, collaboration, and customer-focus skills.
