Responsibilities
- Operate production environments with high availability through monitoring and holistic system-health management.
- Build software and systems to manage platform infrastructure and applications.
- Design and implement monitoring, alerting, automation, and noise-reduction solutions.
- Respond to incidents, outages, and production issues, including root-cause analysis, postmortems, corrective actions, and disaster recovery.
- Provision, maintain, optimize, deploy, and patch infrastructure and applications.
- Define service-level indicators and objectives and track metrics including QoS, uptime, MTTR, and MTBF.
- Provide CI/CD support across software development lifecycle phases for distributed applications.
- Conduct capacity planning, platform management, system-design consulting, troubleshooting, and on-call support.
- Document operational knowledge and maintain the knowledge base.
- Collaborate with development and QA teams on testing and release procedures and communicate risks, issues, and changes to stakeholders.
Requirements
- Graduate or postgraduate degree, preferably in computer science or a related field.
- 4–6 years of relevant SRE experience with product or application support and DevOps experience.
- Experience supporting SaaS-based products or applications in complex data-center and cloud-hosting environments.
- Strong experience with AWS services, cloud technologies, Docker, Kubernetes, orchestration, and microservices.
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Git and Argo.
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools including Prometheus, Grafana, Dynatrace, Splunk, Sumo Logic, Nagios, PagerDuty, and Opsgenie.
- Experience with scripting languages including shell scripting, Perl, Python, and PowerShell.
- Good exposure to firewall concepts, networking, and infrastructure as code using Ansible, Terraform, or CloudFormation.
- Strong knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems and strong application troubleshooting and debugging skills.
- Experience with Jira, Confluence, and SharePoint.
- Strong written and verbal communication, analytical, presentation, time-management, collaboration, ownership, and accountability skills.
- Experience working with Agile Scrum methodology and cross-functional teams.
