Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, implement, and maintain software systems and applications.
Collaborate with hardware engineers, system architects, and multidisciplinary teams to develop integrated software solutions.
Analyze user needs and system requirements and advise hardware designers on storage, processing, and input/output characteristics affecting software systems.
Design and develop compilers, assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems software.
Troubleshoot, debug, and tune software performance.
Support system integration, modernization, and enhancement initiatives.
Develop and maintain technical documentation and system specifications.
Ensure software meets operational, security, and performance standards.
Analyze and resolve Action Requests and ABENDs.
Design and maintain VBA micro-applications using Microsoft Access and Microsoft Excel.

One of the following is required: expert knowledge and 5–8 years of hands-on experience with Oracle, COGNOS, and JavaScript, or expert knowledge and 5–8 years of hands-on experience with Broadcom Endevor.
Preferred experience includes IDMS, system performance and measurement, COBOL, JCL, IBM mainframe Assembler, REXX, MQ Series, z/OS, TSO, ISPF, SDSF, VBA, Microsoft Access, and Microsoft Excel.
Experience supporting large-scale enterprise or government environments and legacy system modernization is preferred.
Experience with DFAS, DoD, civilian payroll systems, DoD/DFAS security requirements, and CAC-enabled environments is desirable.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, written communication, verbal communication, independent-work, and collaboration skills are desired.
An active Secret clearance is required.
A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
