Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, implement, and maintain software systems and applications.
  • Collaborate with hardware engineers, system architects, and multidisciplinary teams to develop integrated software solutions.
  • Analyze user needs and system requirements and advise hardware designers on storage, processing, and input/output characteristics affecting software systems.
  • Design and develop compilers, assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems software.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and tune software performance.
  • Support system integration, modernization, and enhancement initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation and system specifications.
  • Ensure software meets operational, security, and performance standards.
  • Analyze and resolve Action Requests and ABENDs.
  • Design and maintain VBA micro-applications using Microsoft Access and Microsoft Excel.

Requirements

  • One of the following is required: expert knowledge and 5–8 years of hands-on experience with Oracle, COGNOS, and JavaScript, or expert knowledge and 5–8 years of hands-on experience with Broadcom Endevor.
  • Preferred experience includes IDMS, system performance and measurement, COBOL, JCL, IBM mainframe Assembler, REXX, MQ Series, z/OS, TSO, ISPF, SDSF, VBA, Microsoft Access, and Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience supporting large-scale enterprise or government environments and legacy system modernization is preferred.
  • Experience with DFAS, DoD, civilian payroll systems, DoD/DFAS security requirements, and CAC-enabled environments is desirable.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, written communication, verbal communication, independent-work, and collaboration skills are desired.
  • An active Secret clearance is required.
  • A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
