Responsibilities
- Lead technical strategy and support multiple engineering delivery squads.
- Spend approximately 60% of the role developing solutions, building proof-of-concepts, validating technical approaches, and investigating new technologies.
- Act as an escalation point for complex technical issues and drive pragmatic, scalable solutions.
- Manage delivery risks, scope, dependencies, estimation, and delivery planning.
- Support resource planning, team development, mentoring, and technical capability growth.
- Contribute to governance, engineering standards, project planning, and the wider organisation’s technical direction.
- Collaborate with Technical Directors, Architects, Engineering Managers, Project Managers, Tech Leads, and business stakeholders.
Requirements
- Significant software engineering experience with backend, frontend, mobile, or full-stack expertise.
- Experience leading engineering teams and supporting multiple delivery squads.
- Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and engineering best practices.
- Proven experience delivering large-scale, complex technology projects.
- Experience managing scope, dependencies, technical risk, estimation, and delivery planning.
- Strong stakeholder management experience across technical and business leadership teams.
- Hands-on experience with AWS and modern cloud-based architectures.
- Experience mentoring engineers and developing technical capability within teams.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.
- Preferred experience in sports technology, media, broadcasting, digital entertainment, mergers and acquisitions, technology integration, engineering standardization, large global platforms, or client-facing technical leadership and pre-sales activities including RFP support.
