Responsibilities
- Define and own functional test strategies, plans, approaches, scenarios, and risk assessments for payments and cash settlement systems.
- Test domestic and cross-border payment flows, including RTGS, SWIFT, ACH, NEFT, Fedwire, and CHAPS where applicable.
- Validate cash movements, netting, funding checks, nostro/vostro postings, fees, charges, FX rates, cut-off times, and reconciliation results.
- Test settlement flows across equities, fixed income, FX, and derivatives throughout the trade lifecycle.
- Validate trade events including trade capture, confirmation, settlement, failed trades, partial settlements, reversals, cancellations, corporate actions, and lifecycle events.
- Validate accounting entries, GL postings, regulatory requirements, settlement standards, and data across upstream and downstream systems.
- Log, track, and manage defects; collaborate with business analysts, product owners, developers, and operations teams.
- Support UAT and production go-live activities.
- Mentor junior testers, review test artefacts, report test status and quality metrics, and drive functional-testing process improvements.
Requirements
- At least 7.5 years of experience is required; the posting also states a preference for 8+ years in functional test planning for payments and cash settlements.
- 15 years of full-time education is required.
- Strong experience in manual and functional testing, test planning, end-to-end testing, regression testing, and UAT support.
- Proficiency with test management tools such as JIRA, ALM, and TestRail.
- In-depth knowledge of payments and cash settlements and strong understanding of trade lifecycles in capital markets.
- Familiarity with SWIFT messages including MT103, MT202, MT540–543, and MT950, as well as nostro/vostro, clearing, netting, and reconciliation.
- Exposure to ISO 20022 MX messages, regulatory reporting and compliance, and Agile SAFe environments is preferred.
