Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex customer and application issues across the software stack.
- Handle escalated L3 support cases by providing advanced troubleshooting, workarounds, and permanent resolutions.
- Debug application code, identify defects, implement code fixes, and address root causes.
- Design, develop, test, and implement solutions improving application performance, reliability, security, networking, and data streaming.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Troubleshoot Java/Spring Boot applications, microservices, Oracle databases, Linux environments, and Kafka integrations.
- Analyze Kafka producers, consumers, topics, partitions, brokers, offsets, consumer groups, and consumer lag.
- Analyze logs, stack traces, system metrics, database queries, and network traces to identify issues.
- Develop troubleshooting automation scripts and tools for diagnostics, maintenance, Kafka operations, and L3 support.
- Maintain technical documentation, RCA reports, troubleshooting guides, and knowledge-base articles.
- Participate in code reviews and follow software development, security, networking, Kafka, and L3 support best practices.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Support, DevOps, Cybersecurity, Network Operations, Cloud, and Data Engineering teams.
- Use AI-assisted development tools to improve debugging, development, testing, documentation, and troubleshooting efficiency.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 4 years of experience in software development, application troubleshooting, debugging, and L3/Sustenance Engineering.
- Strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, microservices, Linux, Oracle databases, SQL, Apache Kafka, cybersecurity principles, and networking fundamentals.
- Strong understanding of Kafka data streaming, including producers, consumers, topics, partitions, brokers, offsets, and consumer groups.
- Experience with troubleshooting, debugging, root cause analysis, and problem management in L3/Sustenance Engineering.
- Understanding of distributed systems, data-streaming architectures, software development processes, and Agile methodologies.
- Preferred experience with SaaS, cloud, enterprise, platform, or cloud-security products.
- Preferred familiarity with GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Windsurf, Claude Code, MCP integrations, AI agents, agent orchestration, RAG pipelines, AI-powered developer tooling, and LLM-based automation.
- Preferred experience with Python, Bash, AWS, Azure, VMware NSX, software-defined networking, Apache Storm, Apache Flink, ServiceNow, JIRA Service Management, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, application monitoring, observability, logging, and APM tools.
- Cybersecurity, networking, software development, or data-streaming certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CISSP, CCNA, CCNP, Oracle Certified Java Programmer, or Confluent Certified Kafka Developer are a plus.
