Base Salary

$160k - $170k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, test, and maintain web applications and backend services from user interfaces through APIs and data models.
  • Develop live two-way audio and video communication features and capabilities for reviewing, searching, managing, playing back, and processing recorded video.
  • Build and deploy containerized software across edge and cloud environments, including systems that operate under denied, disrupted, intermittent, or limited-bandwidth conditions.
  • Develop mobile and wearable applications, including hands-free interfaces for field users.
  • Integrate AI and machine learning capabilities into user-facing features.
  • Implement authentication, authorization, identity, and security controls and contribute to security authorization documentation.
  • Build dashboards and administrative tools for monitoring and managing deployed systems.
  • Document code, APIs, architecture, deployment procedures, design tradeoffs, test results, and demos for engineering, leadership, and customer audiences.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of hands-on full-stack development experience in Python and TypeScript building production web applications and backend services.
  • Experience with React, FastAPI or Django, HTML, CSS, REST API design, and SQL databases, preferably PostgreSQL.
  • Experience developing in Linux environments and using Bash or Python scripting for automation, diagnostics, and deployment.
  • Experience deploying containerized services with Docker, Kubernetes, continuous integration and delivery pipelines, and AWS.
  • Experience building real-time audio and video features with WebRTC or similar technologies and working with recorded video.
  • Experience building software for limited or intermittent connectivity, including offline storage, retry behavior, and data synchronization.
  • Experience with identity and access management using OpenID Connect, OAuth 2.0, and role-based access control.
  • Experience integrating AI and machine learning services, including search or conversational features built on large language models.
  • Working knowledge of Android or cross-platform mobile development, preferably for wearable devices.
  • Strong troubleshooting, secure coding, written communication, documentation, and presentation skills.
  • Familiarity with security requirements for federal systems seeking an authority to operate.
  • Ability to work with limited direction in an evolving innovation environment and adapt to stakeholder priorities.
