Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain custom ArcGIS Experience Builder Developer Edition widgets and extensions using React and TypeScript.
- Integrate widgets with Enterprise Portal web maps, feature services, and geoprocessing tasks while optimizing client-side rendering and user experience.
- Author, publish, manage, expose, and optimize ArcGIS Enterprise and Portal services, REST endpoints, feature services, map services, query services, and GeoJSON endpoints.
- Automate geospatial data preparation and backend tasks with Python, ArcPy, and the ArcGIS API for Python.
- Engineer geodatabase architectures, data layers, views, dashboards, and automated ETL routines for real-time or near-real-time reporting synchronization.
- Create advanced ArcGIS Survey123 forms using XLSForm logic, dynamic calculations, validation expressions, pull data functions, webhooks, notifications, and post-submission geoprocessing.
- Plan and execute secure content and data migrations across ArcGIS Enterprise Portals, including web maps, hosted feature layers, permissions, and related assets.
- Deploy and administer ArcGIS Earth collaboration workflows, Portal authentication, layer packages, and KML/KMZ service feeds for analyst data entry and 3D visualization.
- Gather requirements and translate stakeholder workflows into technical specifications in collaboration with analysts, project managers, search platform teams, and technical leads.
Requirements
- U.S. citizenship and willingness to work full-time onsite in Reston, Virginia.
- Current and active TS/SCI security clearance and current CI polygraph, with willingness and ability to obtain a CI polygraph as stated.
- At least 10 years of experience in computer science, GIS, geography, or a related technical field.
- At least 2 years of experience with the ArcGIS platform, including ArcGIS Enterprise Server, Portal, and Data Store.
- Proficiency in Python and/or JavaScript, including the ArcGIS API for JavaScript.
- Experience developing and deploying web-based GIS applications and working with RESTful APIs, web services, and ArcGIS Online or Enterprise services.
- Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL/PostGIS or similar spatial databases, spatial data types, and coordinate systems.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure and services such as S3, EC2, or Azure Blob.
- Ability to build and troubleshoot data pipelines and ETL processes and automate geospatial products and visual representations.
- Experience with Git and version control systems, plus strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Preferred: bachelor's degree in a related field.
- Preferred: at least 4 years of professional GIS and software development experience.
- Preferred: experience with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, ArcPy, geoprocessing services, OGC standards, data governance, metadata, geospatial data quality assurance, Agile teams, or DevOps environments.
