Base Salary

$134k - $190k/yr

Responsibilities

Scope, design, and deliver large or complex software features end-to-end with minimal guidance.
Own software components and subsystems across design, implementation, testing, deployment, and ongoing support.
Drive architectural improvements supporting reliability, maintainability, and developer productivity.
Define interfaces and contracts and collaborate with scientists, operators, customers, and engineering teams.
Develop automated tests, observability, and fault-tolerant systems while contributing to incident response and remediation.
Mentor less senior engineers and contribute to hiring, documentation, design reviews, and engineering practices.

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
At least 5 years of experience in a software development role with ownership of complex systems or features.
Strong proficiency in Python and relevant additional language experience depending on team placement.
Experience designing and operating production APIs, services, or systems with real users and uptime expectations.
Strong communication and collaboration skills across engineering, science, and customer-facing stakeholders.
Preferred experience includes laboratory automation, robotics, scientific instrumentation, agentic systems, LLM-backed applications, scheduling and optimization, hardware protocols, device software libraries, PostgreSQL, Kubernetes, cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, customer-environment deployments, Kafka, Temporal, ClickHouse, BigQuery, Snowflake, and Git.

Base salary range of $134,300.00-$189,900.00, plus company stock awards.

Regular onsite attendance at the Boston office Monday through Friday is required, and relocation assistance is available.
The Solutions Engineering team may require domestic and occasional international travel of up to 35%.
