Responsibilities
- Own the model track from training data and fine-tuning through evaluation and release.
- Build and maintain trusted evaluation gates for model changes.
- Create grounded training-data pipelines that ensure model outputs are traceable to source material.
- Design agent instructions, tool contracts, and recovery behavior for model errors.
- Harden models against prompt injection, misuse, data leakage, and unsafe guidance.
- Serve models on constrained customer hardware using quantization and inference-runtime optimization.
- Ship models into a production Rust service while collaborating with engineering, Product Management, and QA.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience fine-tuning open-weight LLMs using LoRA, QLoRA, or similar methods.
- Strong Python skills, including building training-data pipelines.
- Experience with retrieval-backed generation, hallucination control, and source-traceable model output.
- Experience with LLM serving and inference, including vLLM or Ollama, quantization, and constrained-hardware trade-offs.
- Familiarity with tool-calling and agent-based LLM applications.
- Experience designing and running evaluations for non-deterministic systems, including measurable improvements.
- Working knowledge of SQL.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
- Rust literacy, agent-framework experience, LLM security awareness, compact on-premises or offline model deployment, LLM evaluation tooling, and cybersecurity experience are preferred.

About OPSWAT
OPSWAT protects critical infrastructure. Our goal is to eliminate malware and zero-day attacks. We believe that every file and every device pose a threat. Threats must be addressed at all locations at all times—at entry, at exit, and at rest. Our products focus on threat prevention and process creation for secure data transfer and safe device access. The result is productive systems that minimize risk of compromise. That’s why 98% of U.S. nuclear power facilities trust OPSWAT for cybersecurity and compliance. OPSWAT. Trust no file.
