Responsibilities
- Design and implement resilient Java microservices for optical network control functions.
- Architect reusable Python test automation frameworks and mentor engineers on end-to-end distributed-system testing.
- Profile and optimize microservice performance, concurrency, and memory usage in containerized Kubernetes clusters.
- Lead code reviews, automated regression coverage, and technical onboarding for junior engineers.
- Partner with product leads and architects to deliver carrier-grade reliability and address critical customer escalations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or electrical engineering.
- 4 to 9 years of experience designing and developing distributed enterprise or networking software.
- Deep expertise in Java, including Spring Boot or Micronaut, concurrency, distributed caching, transactional consistency, and API design.
- Extensive experience designing modular Python test frameworks using PyTest, Robot Framework, and mock servers.
- Strong experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Kafka, distributed state management, and Linux systems internals.
- Preferred: optical networking experience with ROADM, transponders, OTN, DWDM, L0-L3 topologies, or PCE/path-computation algorithms.
